If you’ve ever tried mindfulness, you may be like many people who just don’t know if they’re doing it right. However, the great thing about mindfulness is, there are many simple ways to try it and it doesn’t have to involve complex meditations. One of the most simple ways that comes with no cost is journaling. If you’re new to journaling or don’t know what to write, we’ve got some super simple mindfulness journal prompts for you to use in your own journal along with a free mindfulness journal template to get going.
Why start a mindfulness journal?
Journaling is a simple yet powerful activity that can improve your mood, reduce stress, boost wellness, and allow you to access progress and reflect. The best part is, it’s practically free except for the cost of a nice diary and a decent pen! (Unless you download my awesome free printable mindfulness journal!)
Anyone can start a mindfulness journal. Mindfulness journaling encourages you to be present and think about situations in your life, the things you’re grateful for and the way things make you feel. It’s the perfect way to reflect on your day or week and look inside yourself where you might usually be, and understandably be preoccupied with the hecticness of daily life.
If you’d like to take a couple of minutes out of your day to do something mindful and positive for your mind, consider downloading this free mindfulness journal template. It’s 100% free and is totally binder-friendly. You can then use your free template with the below mindfulness journal prompts.

Mindful prompts: closing thoughts
Mindfulness journaling is a great habit to have because it allows you to build a healthy routine. It doesn’t have to take up much of your time and you might even feel a sense of calm after you have jotted down a few notes. Whilst it may not be for everyone, being mindful of a few basic things we often don’t think about or spend much time reflecting on can fill you with a great sense of gratitude.
